2010 Arts Alliance Funding
 
Round One funding from the Shire’s Arts and Heritage Alliance grant pool is now open.
The grant pool provides access to financial support for local artists, individuals and non-profit organisations wishing to present quality, innovative arts and heritage activities and projects that foster a strong sense of local identity, distinctiveness and community spirit. 
            Funding streams include:
·      A new ‘Quick Response’ grant up to $500 (available all year round)
·      Arts Project grant up to $5,000
·      Major Arts project grant up to $10,000 .
Applications for funding are being accepted until Wednesday, 7 April 2010and should be sent to East Gippsland Shire Council, Arts Alliance Grants, P. O .Box 1618, Bairnsdale, Victoria, 3875.

Community Small Grants Program- Round 2 2009/2010

EAST GIPPSLAND SHIRE COUNCIL GRANTS FOR COMMUNITY GROUPS
 
The East Gippsland Shire Council is inviting community groups, organisations and sporting bodies to apply for funding from the Council’s Community Small Grants Program.

 
This is the second round of funding offered for the 2009/2010 financial year.
 
Applications for the second funding round close on Wednesday, 7th April 2010.
 
Grants up to $5,000 are available for community organisations, groups, sporting bodies, community halls and recreation reserve committees from the following three grant streams: Community Development Grants; Community Facilities Grants: and Community Festival & Events Grants.
 
Funding criteria guidelines and grant application forms are available from Council’s Business and Outreach Centres and Libraries.  Application forms are also available in PDF and Word format from Council’s website www.egipps.vic.gov.au/Page/page.aspand completed applications can now be emailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Communities for Children - Local Initiative Program 2010
 
Kilmany UnitingCare is the Facilitating Partner for the Australian Government’s Communities for Children (CfC) Program.  CfC is funded by the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA).
The CfC Program funds organisations to develop and facilitate initiatives that deliver better outcomes for children (0-12) and their families.  This is done by funding services to work collaboratively, building on community strengths and existing infrastructure of organisations, networks and resources and making use of evidence when working with families and children. 
Funding to deliver activities in the below stated priority areas is available from July 1st 2010 - June 30th 2012.     A total funding pool of $1. 251 million is available for service delivery in this period.   For  selected activities start up funding may be available in this current financial year if an organisation has the capability to commence an activity before July.

Activity 2:               Outreach parenting support
Activity 3:               Early Intervention Together - Effective Early Intervention
                               Models
Activity 4:               Young Parents Project
Activity 5:               Children’s Wellbeing & Resilience
Activity 6:               Supporting Remote communities
Activity 7:               School Gateway Project
Activity 8:               East Gippsland Indigenous Engagement

2.       Organisations intending to submit an EOI are required to contact the Communities for Children team to arrange a time to discuss their proposal.
The expression of interest process will open on Monday 22ND February 2010 and close on the Wednesday 31st March 2010
Please note that this does not involve the Local Initiatives Program (small grants >$5,000) as detailed in a separate advertisement.
Individuals and families are not eligible for receipt of this funding.

Term 1  27 January to 26 March

Term 2  12 April to 25 June

Term 3  12 July to 17 September

Term 4  4 October to 17 December

 

2010 Victorian school term dates

Term 1  1 February (students start) to 26 March - teachers begin Term 1 on 27 January

Term 2  12 April to 25 June (26 April - ANZAC Day Public Holiday)*

Term 3  12 July to 17 September (9 August is an additional one-off student-free day)*

Term 4  4 October to 17 December

*Please note that schools are able to set a student free day in either Term 2 or Term 3.  Also there will be an additional “one-off” student free day for all government schools on 9 August 2010; to support the implementation of the Ultranet – a major Blueprint initiative.
